Here are Maine’s top Halloween costume searches

Be prepared for a preponderance of aliens in Bangor on Halloween. According to a seasonal report from Google, it was the most commonly searched costume in the area.
“Frightgeist,” as the report is called, is based on the past year’s searches in the United States, broken down by region.
Maine is divided into three areas. In Portland, Marge Simpson topped the list, followed by Bowser from Super Mario Bros.
Presque Isle fancies Star Trek and Britney Spears in denim, according to Google.
Frightgeist’s overall ranking of costume searches is topped by Shrunken Head Bob from Beetlejuice, which Google mysteriously describes as the “top searched shrunken head of all time.”
Number two on the overall list is Raygun, the 2024 Australian Olympic breakdancer with a note that related searches included “green and yellow track suit” and “green track pants.”
Visitors to the site can also see lists of top kid costumes, dog costumes (hot dog placed third), makeup, party themes and more.
